Henry A. Finn, MD, Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery and Director, The University of Chicago Bone and Joint Replacement Center at Weiss, developed he unique design of the implant featured in this VJO New Development presentation. One key, important feature is that patients are anticipated to achieve full weight bearing one day postoperatively. In addition, proximal anatomic fit-and-fill provides optimal inital stability with decreased risk of subsidence, proximal loading helps decrease stress shielding and the taperred design diminishes "end of stem" pain. Dr. Finn demonstrates his technique of power preparation, thereby avoiding broaching and minimizing impaction force.
